Privacy policy
What we collect when you book, why we hold it, and how long we keep it.
Draft for review. Have this checked before launch, and add your registered company details and, if one is appointed, your data protection contact.
Who is responsible for your data
NorthwestCCTV is the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at bookings@northwestcctv.co.uk with any question about your data.

| Installation address and postcode | To route the engineer and confirm the property is within our working area | Performance of a contract |
| Notes you give us about access | To plan the installation properly | Performance of a contract |
| Payment record and card last four digits | To take the deposit and reconcile the balance | Performance of a contract, and legal obligation for accounting records |
| Reviews and photographs you agree to share | To show our work on this website | Consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
Card details
Full card numbers are handled by our payment provider and are not stored on our systems. We keep only the last four digits and the provider's reference, so we can match a payment to a booking.
Postcode lookups
When you use the coverage checker, the postcode is sent to postcodes.io, a public service built on the Office for National Statistics postcode directory, to identify which council district it falls in. Only the postcode is sent. The result is cached on our server so repeat checks do not need another lookup.
Who else sees your data
Our payment provider, our accountant for invoicing and tax records, and our web host. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for six years after the installation, which is the period we are required to retain accounting records and matches the period in which a claim could be brought. Reviews and photographs are kept until you ask us to remove them. Postcode lookup results hold no personal data beyond the postcode itself.
Cookies and analytics
We set one essential cookie to keep your booking session together and protect the form against cross-site request forgery. It is required for the site to work and carries no tracking.
If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful. That sets additional cookies. Nothing analytics-related loads until you accept, and you can change your mind at any time using the link in the footer.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email bookings@northwestcctv.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Your own CCTV footage
We do not have access to the footage your system records. It stays on the recorder at your property. Where cameras capture anything beyond your boundary, you are the data controller for those recordings, and the ICO publishes guidance on what that means.
